Artist Don Christopher recently recorded his latest album titled “Falling”. He is known for his versatility and velvet smooth sound. He was formerly known as ‘Chris Brown’ or ‘Reggae Chris Brown’. Born in St. Catherine, Jamaica, Christopher Don Brown displayed his talent at age 14 when he was chosen by a teacher at the Blackston edge all age in St. Ann to represent his school at the Jamaica National Annual Festival, where schools from around the island showcased their talent. His music has evolved over the years. He recorded his first song, ‘Conclusion’ for Joseph Hookim at the Channel One Hit Band Studio in Kingston at age 16. He did several other recordings then joined forces with the late Stanley Beckford of Stanley and the Turbines. Their collaboration created many new and interesting opportunities.

DonChristopher got his first real taste of the ‘big stage’ when he performed at ‘Sting 1992’. In 1993, he migrated to the United States of America. DonChristopher released ‘Fire Fire’, a collaboration with artist MC Nail. This single enjoyed a brief run at the 1 spot on the Jamaican charts. ‘Fire Fire’ was followed by ‘Agony Daddy’, which made it to 4 on the Jamaican charts. After migrating to the U.S., DonChristopher recorded ‘Hungry’ and ‘Fisherman ska’ on the Mereoli Label for the various artists cd ‘Many Faces of Reggae’. ‘Fisherman ska’ had a successful run and was featured on the Jet Star Music Charts in Europe in 1994. In 1995, he decided to take a break from the music business to pursue other interests. In 2002, DonChristopher recorded a new album titled ‘Do Right’on the Tornado Record Label. The title track ‘Do Right’ was inspired by the premature death of his closest friend. This album shows incredible emotional depth and would give inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to experience the music. Singles subsequently released were ‘Maniac’, ‘Rolling’, ‘Rise and Shine’ and ‘Do Better by Yourself’ with artist MC Nail. ‘Do Better by Yourself’ is an anthem of empowerment for women. These last two songs held the number 2 and 5 spots on the charts in Miami and New York respectively.
